On calling it rest and going anyway

Short sleep and an early swim.

Even though we were out last night, we ensured that we reach home on a reasonable time and I was in bed by 11 to wake up at 4.50am. It was a short sleep. Today is actually my rest day, however these days my rest days are active recovery days.

Swimming started early, normal drills, some single arm strokes then double arm strokes, freestyle is getting better but it's still a long long way to go. I am keeping trust in the process that the process will lead me to where I want to get. I cannot leave the process. The swim was 51 minutes (avg HR 122).

Other than that it's a rest day, I am very focused on my nutrition, all days I am having mostly, instead of eating an orange I am having an orange smoothie, a banana smoothie or adding berries and water smoothie, magnesium for sleeping, ashwagandha, chlorophyll, also one thing that has really helped me sleep deeper is a concussion cocktail of apple cider vinegar and honey in warm water, it helps me sleep, it's from Tim Ferriss.

Came home from swimming and slept for another hour, total sleep over 6 hours. Will catch up for some sleep while on the way to work and got to do Wim Hof breathing.

I cannot leave the process.

Why I'm doing this

I am not training to finish my race in November. I am training to be the best version of myself.

This is a public ledger. Every workout — the good, the boring, the ones I would rather not remember — gets logged here automatically from Strava. No filtering. No retroactive story arc.

I am 40-something, working a real job, training around it. The interesting stuff is not the race day. It is the ordinary morning before work. The lap before the rhythm clicks. The kilometre where the mind stops narrating and the body just gets on with it.

Melbourne is the deadline. Showing up is the point.
