learning the hard way: sleep is training too
Sleep feels like a skill I never learned.
41 years old and still, till date, why did no one teach me how to sleep and why is sleep so important?
As I am learning different aspects of endurance sports, I am learning my body is teaching me recovery, and sleep is also important. Which I have ignored till date. I wonder why did no one teach me this in school or my family or my friends taught me why sleep is important.
We've always been taught how to hustle in life, and it's okay to deprive the body of sleep while we are hustling in the world, in the rat race. I have come a long way to where I started from, but still my body doesn't know how to sleep for over 6 hours. Even if I sleep early, my body clock is not set yet, and in the morning it's waking up on time.
So along with swimming I am also learning how to build muscles. Most importantly I am learning how to recover, stretch, and best solution to everything is how to sleep well. I think also with so much activities, if I start sleeping well I would also become more focused on my work.
Again today swimming was good (80 minutes). Indoor bike ride on my Woosh was good. Just finishing up and getting to work. On the way in the car hopefully I will do a quick Wim Hof breathing exercise.
